A Very Basic Introduction to Arduino

In this video we have a brief discussion of what the Arduino really is, and what you can do with it.

I will get a small commission and it costs you nothing.

The way you correlate human logic to code logic, at the very end there, is the one thing not a single other YouTuber/Educator has connected as clearly as you just did. I'mma go get oysters now ;)

Great overview of Arduino! I am so thankful i found the Arduino community and the lessons learned has helped me on my day job. I encourage anyone to pick it up as a hobby and see where it takes you.

Excellent presentation Paul. Didn't realise learning Arduino could be this simple in basic form.

Nice overview. Well done. I have one of these sitting on my desk for years now. I need to get going on some projects. Thanks for the motivation. Cheers

What a great primer; well done. I've heard the name (Arduino) mentioned anecdotally in so many other YouTube videos and until today I had no idea what this thing actually does. I'm a retired programmer (C++/Perl/Java my preferred languages) and realize I can tackle the programming aspect with relative ease. Thank you for enlightening me and I look forward to many future projects.

Oh man, you've renewed my faith in Arduino. Over the last 2 years, I've followed various trends in setting up LED strips controlling hardware and software, which from my first introduction, used an Arduino, it's IDE running FASTled, which absolutely boggled my mind, and now, using a Digquad controller and WLED, which is a thousand times more simpler for people like me who don't know electronics nor code. But now, because of your explanation on this video, I now understand how Arduino works ...somewhat., I can now begin other simple projects using Arduino. Thanks so much for this video.

I have built working electrical circuits from your channel. Very Good and clear instructions and I Thank you.

Great explanation. These small microcontrollers are the reason you find such inexpensive electronics gear now. No more hardwired analog and digital circuits, just use software to create the device. Thanks Paul ☮

Great intro to the Arduino Paul! It may be 10+ year old technology but it still has many, many uses for simple to moderately complex applications, also considering there are expanded versions of the Arduino such as the Mega. The Arduino is also an excellent learning platform as an introduction to microcontrollers. We have so many choices today which makes for many possibilities. I have so many Arduino projects in mind but just have been so busy with other life issues....such as moving - once I settle down Arduino is at the top of my playlist. I also have a Mintduino (an Arduino kit in an Altoids tin can in the spirit of the COSMAC Elf Membership Card) to assemble and tinker with. I also like tinkering with classic microprocessors and microcontrollers such as the 1802, 8051 series, 68000, etc., it never gets old for me!

Great summary/intro. Im looking to learn arduino. I picked up a basic kit and a module kit. Still yet to make my first LED blink.

Edit - Id honestly like to see a series out of this. I like your teaching style. Id definitely watch.

Edit 2 - This playlist is gonna be a lot of fun.

I actually haven't watched this video yet but let me say in advance THANK YOU...
Always wanted a bit more an idea as to what the hype is all about 👍

Great video Paul, I see folks using them all the time, but never really had a grasp on it. I understand it better now. The writing of the code is still a bit lacking in my brain, but I assume there might be a "Arduino for Dummies" book out there somewhere that explains writing code for us newbies?

I ordered 6 pk of these nanos from amazon. All of them Crash when uploading sketches. Even after trying the correct usb driver and the “Totally Sketchy” one the seller recommended.
Never again will I buy anything Arduino from amazon. I’ll gladly pay full price for Authentic Arduino’s.
Thanks for your explanation Paul. And the walk around.
God Bless.

Excellent video! I am interested in using a Nano for multiple model railroad animation projects, but did not appreciate how the digital and analog pins worked. I also am naïve regarding I2C and other interfaces. I appreciate your fine overview.
