I grew up not far from Odd. Just down in Mercer County to the south. Ive met them several times. For the most part theyre nice people, just trying to survive with the hand they were dealt. People mock them and bully them. Mark actually changed that a LOT by exposing them to the world the way he has. People in the area really dont notice them and never have. Theyre just the neighbors. Everyone knows who they are and their story, but theyre just another family to us. It's messed up. The whittakers are hurt worst in this. Betty told tyler she didnt know where the house money but she truly doesnt have the cognitive function to manage money well. Shes a sweet woman. Tyler shouldnt have stuck his nose in it.

Larry’s daughter was scamming Mark & using the money for drugs for herself & son. Larry & Betty admitted to knowing about asking for money for drugs & the daughter DJ pretended her father Larry died to get more money for his funeral. They need an accountant to have complete control of the money, not Mark bc he’s getting scammed.

Plot thickens. Mark recently confronted the whitakers, and BJ or DJ was taking the money for her drug addiction.

It didn’t help that they lied and said one guy died and he flew out for the “funeral” and the family member pulled up. The grandsons and nieces has been scamming and grabbing all their money using it on drugs. If people watch the videos they’d know what’s going on with money and how the family operates

Anyone that has watched all of SWU would know that the Whittakers have made some large purchases like a brand new truck and that other small house on the property. To expect Mark has every penny and hasn't given it to the family, over such a large period of time, is ridiculous.

Tyler insinuated Mark misusing the GoFundMe funds. Mark has helped the Whitaker family for years & Tyler drove a wedge into that relationship, ruining everything!!

It's the tone Tyler used when he asked about the money donations, specifically intended for the Whittaker's. It was not posed as a question of curiosity and concern but more like an accusation. Improvements were made on the Whittaker's current home, among other things with funds from the "Go Fund Me" account Mark set up. Mark and donations from the public improved the Whittaker's lives greatly.

Tyler is being VERY disingenuous. He knows what he did, he didn't just "ask a question". He could have ABSOLUTELY gone to Mark and discuss it with him, but he did this as a "gotcha" for views. So I absolutely understand why Mark would have acted the way he did.

Well, Mark has completely vindicated himself by boarding a plane and making a surprise visit to confront the Whitaker's and what had actually happened with every penny accumulated.
I think Tyler underestimated Mark an unbelievably embarrassing level.

I’ve known Mark for years, and the family in WV is around 3% of the people he’s helped out of his own pocket. The amount of money he’s given freely only to be lied to and spent on drugs etc is astounding. He has an amazing heart and truly is a giving and kind man.

It was a personal attack because he didn't get the response he wanted from Mark. He used the Whittaker grocery drop off as an opportunity to thumb his nose at Mark. Then try to spin his words to change the story.
