I have had requests for this Lightfoot song for a while and finally decided to record this cover. For me this song is a real memory challenge to keep all the words straight. The instrumental parts of the song in between the verses are interesting and the song is well known by Lightfoot aficionados. He apparently wrote this for a Michael Douglas movie, though I know it only from his Don Quixote album of 1972. I hope you enjoy this -- thanks for listening! - Glenn

Very cool. You do a beautiful job with Mr. Lightfoot's music. The tapping on the side of the guitar gives an excellent touch to the piece. You also do a beautiful job with the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. It is actually the only song by Gordon Lightfoot I know by heart. When I sing it at karaoke, everyone gets really quiet. I have a plush representation of a black footed ferret. His full name is Gordon Carroll, Meredith Lightfoot. Gordon, because of Gordon Lightfoot. Carol, because of the late puppeteer Carol Spinney known for playing Big Bird on Sesame Street, and then of course, the rest of Gordon's name. Meredith Lightfoot. That's how I came up with that. So, my little ferrets name is a tribute to two of my favorites celebrities. Gordon Lightfoot, and Carol Spinney.

beautifully done. I'm sure I Mister Lightfoot a smiling down upon you right now. I'm sure he would be proud of you because you covered one of his songs. That is indeed one of his best. In fact, I have his entire discography on my desktop computer. By the way, I like your Contant. Well done with Gordon Lightfoot the pony man. That is so awesome. There are two pieces on flute that I haven't played in a while. A piece called Ned of the hill, and a piece called Poor wayfaring Stranger. I haven't played them because it reminds me of an ex friend. A friend of mine tonight told me that if I don't play those pieces, I'm giving this ex friend power to have control over my life. She's right. I have to get these pieces out again, and play through them. That is the best way to take back control. I've been working on pussy willows cattails by Gordon Lightfoot.

I'm certain that Gord played this at every concert I attended. The album has a lot of hidden gems in it! Thanks Glenn. Great job (as usual). BTW you don't hear the term "stemming gold" very often. Moosehead

Wow! Well done. I like this one. It's so cool how you strike the edge of the guitar. I've heard the guitar player in the Eagles do that for hotel California. I like it when a guitar player does that, because it lets the other musician know when to start.actually, a friend of mine did that once when we were playing hotel California together. Guitar and flute duet. It's pretty cool. There's another guitar player that does that in the group the extremes in more than words. It would be interesting to hear a tutorial of ode to big blue. For some reason, that is one of my favorite pieces along with the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Actually, the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald was the very first Gordon Lightfoot song I heard. Anyhow, let me know what you think of the audio descriptions.
