Hello polymaths, choosing to attend college is fun and exciting. Before you go to nurse practitioner school, know this first. I recommend that you do your research before signing up for Nurse practitioner school or any area. There are a lot of nursing jobs but are there a lot of nurse practitioner jobs? Do a thorough search and determine the number of job opportunities that are available in your area of study. What is the pay scale, where are these opportunities located (in state or out of state), what benefits are offered? There are many people who attended college, obtain a degree but can't find a job. What is the reason for this? Is this due to minimal job opportunities or a lack of understanding and research of the chosen area of study. I made that mistake; I didn't research 'nurse practitioner' and what the career entailed. I'm not alone either, there are many other nurse practitioners who aren't able to find a job, or they keep job hopping because they're unhappy with their work places or career choice. I am so glad to see someone tell the truth. You are talking to me! I am in school now and have no clue what I really want to do with earning this degree. I hear that primary care take their work home, urgent care is crazy etc.
