It’s also weird in Japan, nobody will offer their seat to the elderly on the train. Instead they will pretend to sleep until their stop arrives. It’s strange because otherwise Japanese are super respectful.

I once offered my seat to an elderly lady, she was shocked and very thankful.

For a country with, Hentai, JAV and weird ass game shows, I find Japan very strict when it comes to things pertaining to social and moral interactions. Like the country is a living contradiction within itself.
