As much as I hate the Canadiens, being a bruins fan, Id love to see them with a really good team again. Hockey is the best when real hockey towns have good teams. imagine the playoffs / run up to the end of the regular season with Boston, Montreal, Buffalo, Detroit, Ottawa and Toronto all fighting for spots and a chance for the cup? they should bring Carolina back to Hartford or another city somewhere within the New England area.... even if its a northern Maine / Nova Scotia type team (have no idea if that would even work but just a thought). some NHL teams like Nashville make it work.... but its sad to think Tampa Bay is stacked with talent while Detroit looks like its gonna suck for the next 3 - 5+ years. Buffalo is playing great this season and as much as I hated the Lindy Ruff years and the John Scott experiment, those fans deserve a good team. the football and hockey fans of buffalo are so passionate but get absolutely shit on every year.

I thought they were the team of destiny after that. Even moreso after the sweep of Pitt. Hawks had their own destiny though. Unbelievable comeback v Leafs, and one of the best Cup Finals I can remember in a long long time. Even though others went to 7 games, this was still better hockey, imho.

Yes but you can also remember how ironic game six was...even the commentators noted it. and you ask what did we take away from it...sour grapes? Meh that's quite the over statement. Unlike other league teams, Toronto has the biggest fan base in the entire league, some of the most loyal fans I might add. And that was some of the best playoff hockey put on by the leafs in almost ten years....and were going to build on it, don't be surprised if the leafs are higher in the league stats this year.
