I'm 52 and just got a DXA BMD last week, with results at -2.8 which was a shock since I am an avid exerciser, eat healthy and don't smoke. I'm excited to have booked my consult with you, Dr Barbie! See you in December!

I cried listening to this as I read the copy of my DEXA T scores. I am gathering up the information that I want to present to you, & will be making an appointment very soon. I’m grateful to you for sharing this knowledge & especially for offering consultations. A woman would have to be crazy, not to set up an appointment for a consultation with you. What you offer, combined with your knowledge, is priceless! Thank you ❤️

Thank you for explaining that so well. Sitting with my DXA scan… T score -2.2 that was 2 years ago aged 46 pre menopause. I have been complaining of peri menopausal symptoms for the past 2 years and my doctor looks at me blankly 😐 she has tested me for everything under the sun but provided no advice or suggestions re hormone replacement. Given my T score I think it may have been a good idea. She must have looked at the Z score, which is -2…. I am now armed with the knowledge and booking another scan this week for an update. I am also seeing a specialist with the hope to get better advice regarding menopause and possible HRT. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge in such an entertaining way.

Thank you for this information! I had and eating disorder when I was a teenager and my first dexa scan was at the age of 42. At that time I was told that I had osteopenia and that my bones didn't develop fully but I was fine.. 10 years later I have osteoporosis. I wish I could of watched your videos earlier.

I watched this video 3 years ago, but needed a refresher. I just got the results of my DEXA from last week and the impression says "normal bone mineral density." According to your chart, I have osteopenia in my right and left hip; -1.0 and -0.7. Nothing said about osteopenia in the report. Good news is I added bone density in the L-spine, T score is now +2.0 and the right hip BMD increased slightly to -0.7, but still osteopenic. I thought it was impossible to gain bone especially at my age, almost 70. I don't understand why my spine would be in the plus but hips in the minus. I messaged my doctor to interpret results for me, we'll see. Thanks to your very excellent education, I probably know more than she does. Thanks Dr. Taylor for all you do for us!

My doctor ordered a bone scan DEXA diagnosed Ostroporosisand prescribed Fosamax weekly and Calcium bicarbonate and D3 supplements. Never once referenced nor explained the bone density results. I downloaded the test results, and have been struggling to interpret the information.

Thank goodness for you!!

Hello beautiful Dr. Barbie! It's your friend Annie from Maid of the Mist :) I've been recommending your videos to friends, people, practitioners. Was telling a friend that both my Irish grandma and gr. grandmas, had osteoporosis. She told me the funnest fact: Jumping on a mini trampoline aka rebounding helps to maintain and possibly improve bone density.

I’m only 38 and have petite body frame. I also have autoimmune diseases and have trouble gaining weight. My t score was -2.8 in lumbar and -2.5 in femur. I had this test done because during genetic testing it indicated I have a very high risk of osteoporosis :( I’m at a loss what to do if I’m at a 70 year olds state
:(

The system needs to change and prevention is where it's at. Thank you ever so! I knew so little about interpreting this test and will share your knowledge with one of my senior clients who injects Forteo for her osteoporosis. I'm going to request a test for myself as well.
