Ive learnt that there's 2 levels of security and that even the european made ones require the american tech. The first level has been released to ukraine, but russian jammers are able to block it/misdirect. The 2nd level would by-pass the russian jamming signals.
The key fear is if russia captured one of these systems, reverse engineered it n then were able to solve issues such that any direct war with america against russia and/or it's allies would stop the advantage america has.
As much as i hate american dominance, i know that russian or chinese dominance would be a thousand times worse. It has changed my opinion of the situation in favour of america. Yes, america could come up with another system that would void russian knowledge gained, however time and resources would be required. Western economies have barely stabilised. Uk quality of life has declined since 2016, if not earlier. Level 2 is a very last stage thing it appears and i agree it should be kept in reserve. I WANT NATO to ALWAYS have the advantage over russia. These horrific yeah ill say it EVIL behaviours need stopping.
What i think usa needs to do instead;
Channel a shit-ton into expanding ukraine's mass production and development of their OWN weapons, Offer companies/individuals a tax incentive for any engineers, scientists etc if they are willing volunteer workers to sign individual contracts to work within ukraine who have the needed skillsets. There HAS to be work-arounds like with ex-soldiers from all over the world in the legionnaire's brigade/s.
That said, im beginning to think america doesnt want ukraine to win, at least it wants russia and hopefully china et al weakened just shy of the point russia fractures into war-lords. They forget that after the soviet collapse no one started throwing nuclear bombs at each other, but that is what they fear. India could go in as a mostly neutral player (leans russian) and secure all the nuclear stuff temporarily if russia insists on going full madmax internally.
Personally, the only way i think the average russian has a chance at a decent government, being treated like humans etc, is if russia ends up becoming several different countries along their original ethnic lines, with UN peacekeepers on standby

Ukraine knows that the F-16 uses 18 manhours of maintenance for every hour of flight. It costs $22, 000 an hour of flight. I never thought that Ukraine could afford the expense.
