Agreed, this is another great video. I applied over 1000 jobs to get my current job. It was in a very competitive industry in a high population metro area. It was totally worth it and received experience that I could have never imagined.

Location is probably a big one too. I'm currently job hunting and it's been radio silence after 150 applications. Just one recruiter reached out to me and we're still playing hide and seek with the first interview. I believe where I'm has something to do with it. Also, ATS can be a huge obstacle that can prevent your application from getting through to the hiring manager. I heard 75% of applications are thrown away by ATS. This is pure insanity.

Great video Ben! I’ve noticed a huge uptick in this with the warriors I work with as many of them want remote or fully virtual and it’s tough to stick out with so many other applicants.

Hey Ben, could you do a video about how to prepare for a video interview? I would like a suggestion such as: should I take a PTO day for the video interview? What should I avoid when I do it? Etc

Ben, do you have a video explaining what the actual role of the Recruiter is and how that interacts with other internal roles, such has HR and the Hiring Manager? Recruiter videos often talk about how busy Recruiters are, what is happening on the other side?

Or Number 4 reason, you are "too old".

Ageism still exists in the workplace.

Another reason I’ve found you don’t hear back from companies is wages. I can’t tell ya how many jobs I’ve applied to where I checked every box when it came down to salary they hired someone else.

Hey Ben! Your videos are great, and are really informative and insightful, and I had a quick question. If I apply in the evening so I'm closer to the "top of the pile, " is that a bad strategy, and will recruiters consider me applying late at night on a Sunday a red flag, or do they not really pay close attention to timestamps on applications?

Wouldn't applying earlier mean that you get lost in the shuffle of applications coming in, and applying later would put you on top of the pile and thus, one of the first to be read.

Job hunting is like fishing: it's mostly waiting and nothingness.
