I have wasted nearly $2,000 on both cloud mining platforms Genesis Mining and Hashflare and I do not recommend either.

You're spot on Jeremy, Hashflare is total bollox. I lost money as it just bled away. Don't invest, it's a waste.

Every manager of a cloud mining website is NOT ALLOWED in making a deposit when withdrawing Bitcoin and the like, should the maintenance fees will be deducted from the results of cloud mining from that user, and if the website is found a deposit when withdrawing, it is ensured that the SCAM and the all cloud mining websites are permanently blocked by the international cryptocurrency task force.

Hmm, my ethereum contract from 2017 is still running after the crash. I am in profit atm so not total scam. You will have to calculate maintenance fee against the profit/difficulty increase etc. I got nice profit from ethereum compared to buying in the same period.

*Agree! I did make a profit! I had invested little amount but I reinvested the capital and profit again and again in buying more hash power! But I had not accounted for the difficulty in mining a block. The difficulty in mining increases as more number of participants with higher mining power participates in the process of mining. I don't regret investing as I didn't make a very big Loss, since my Investment was what I could afford to loose and it was small, and secondly it taught me to account for all contingent events in the future and do much more research, and never give up! Hashflare is not Profitable for a small investment*

I have done well from Hashflare in the past, but hashflare only have 12 month contracts. When mining is not profitable they switch off the machines otherwise they would have to put that cost back onto the customer. Genesis I believe were open ended contracts but would expire if mining became non profitable. In the right market there is a potential for passive income. I'm looking at putting some trading profits into a mining contract when there is a little more certainty in market reversal. Not definite as of yet but just looking at options. I did really like the compounding reinvestment option with hashflare, if we are at the beginning of a 2-3 year bill run it could be extremely profitable.
