If you don't know anything about how two-way radios work, here is a run down on the concept of what squelch is, how it works, and how to use it.

This video helped me so much. Thank you! All the other explanations I can find are just basic overview not an in depth explanation on how it all works

A related video: RF Gain using same spectrum visual. RF gain will make everything on that spectrum analyzer bigger, basically, and turning it down would reduce RX power to the point only a tall spike would get through the rx circuit

Hello,
Great video! Was wondering, how you set-up the "oscilloscope" to show both the noise-floor and those stronger signals. I'm an electronics-enthusiast, but I am also a NOOB. I just recently acquired an old Bearcat radio scanner and I also have a cheap Mustool multimeter/oscilloscope-thing, it's really more of a waveform display. Anyhoo, I was wondering how I could set these two devices, to reproduce your set-up. Where should I connect the probes? Any insight will be appreciated. Make more videos. Thank you kindly

Wow I learn something 2021 the audio guys at the store didn’t had a clear idea what squelch did in microphone receivers, now I understand perfectly it’s all about the frequencies a world we can’t see hehe but is there I might get a scanner later on, I had some issues with the mic giving static noise randomly and I change the channel before the event but then that noice came in when there was no one talking in the mic and we are talking about 500-590mhz range I heard in California the government is using 600mhz for some tv transmission or something like such so yeah I’ll be playing around with the squelch to avoid this noise, so it’s best to raise up that level for example instead of -5 to be 0 or 7? Also I noticed when I took this mic away from the transmitter I got that noise again and it was just 11-15feet max apart we are talking about a senheiser wireless mic system xsw1 system . I prefer shure but we work for what we have …
