Details you definitely missed in The Silence of the Lambs

Показать описание
Did you notice that in The Silence of the Lambs, Clarice fails an FBI drill by forgetting to “check the corner” by looking over her left shoulder when entering a room. Near the end of the movie, she misses a hint to the suspect’s identity by making the same mistake again. When characters are talking to Clarice, they often talk directly to the camera. The director explained that this was done so the audience would directly experience her point of view and more readily identify with Clarice over her male counterparts. In preparation for his role as Jack Crawford, Scott Glenn listened to the Toolbox Killers Tape, which is a recording made by actual killers that the FBI uses to desensitize their agents. After just a few minutes, he broke down crying. Early in the movie, Hannibal Lecter tells Clarice that he ate a man’s liver with fava beans and a nice Chianti. All of these foods interfere with MAOI antidepressants, which are used to treat various personality disorders. This essentially means Lecter was off of his meds. The marking on the death’s head moth seen on the poster for the movie is based on a Salvador Dali photograph, arranging seven nude women into the shape of a skull.
