That's not a person of interest but a terrorist. My condolences to the victims and families

Another failure of our institutions to properly prevent incidents like this. If he was already institutionalized why is he now free able to own a weapon and not monitored in any way.
Its clear that the entire infrustructure is collapsing on a mass scale. The deterioration of mental health should be considered a national crisis.

Those poor families and individuals who witnessed this. Heart heartbreaking for everyone involved.

If he is unstable, why does he have access to guns?

And again the politicians will want to disarm the law abiding.

I'm sure the FBI has nothing to do with this.

This is what happens when you neglect mental health care.

Now if other people were armed, he may have been stopped before so many people were killed and also wounded.
As a Vet myself, i wonder why he was allowed out of the mental health facility ?

Mental health facility? Who lets those types of people have guns.

Can someone tell me why the news contacted a professional bowler to comment on how the bowling community felt? The reason we even know about this is because the media loves the sensationalizaion. We didn't hear anything about the 250 people shot in Chicago this month. They didn't mention that Maine had 29 shootings in the whole state compared to thousands elsewhere.

This will never end until we get serious about helping those who cannot help themselves and start providing adequate, compassionate, and ongoing mental health care in the U.S. - the kind of care that actually cares about people's suffering and cares about how their suffering affects society. I've been seeking out therapy for a year for anxiety and panic attacks and keep being told there is a shortage of professionals in my area, and put on eternal waiting lists without any follow-up calls. When I finally do get an appointment with my general doctor, weeks to months later, I am told they won't prescribe medication for mental health, that I have to find a psychiatrist. Then I'm told I cannot come back to my doctor for the same issue or it will be considered insurance fraud. I can only imagine how difficult it is for someone hearing voices and experiencing deeper issues such as schizophrenia, etc.
