We gotta give some credit to where it’s due; prior to Ryzen, we were lucky to get 5% uplifts between Intel generations. Now? 15% uplifts generation after generation? Even from Intel? Finally companies working for our money.

The competition between Intel and AMD is creating some very nice products. Let’s hope the Intel can cause some more competition in the GPU market too. The consumer should be the winner.

5:25 I still use the reliable Sony Dualshock 2s for all of my gaming. No stick drift, no batteries, no issues. Some of my controllers are still going strong after 20 years.

I expect the 7700X to be much more power efficient than the 13700K.

Intel: AMD just throwing cores on it
Intel: just throws more cores on it

You won't have very long loading screens to reflect on your life choices in with a blazing fast SSD though....

pricing gonna be interesting. If the leaks are actually true, and the 7700x is directly matched with the 13700k, then Intel is going for a clear home run on this - especially now that AMD is also switching to LGA motherbaords so the price difference that we used to see for a whole rig setup won't be significant anymore. In such an event, amd could really be in trouble to find buyers outside of their core audience, as the leaks tell the 13700k has them beat both in single core, but also MASSIVELY in multicore which used to be a primary selling point of AMD. I even dabbled with the thought of going red due to my work requiring heavy multicore capacity, but now that I see these changes I don't really find any AMD offering to be viable outside of the very pricey threadripper options.

With these all improvements, it's amusing that we still haven't gone to the moon again

Only bad part is that intel CPUs only perform good in benchmarks, but for day to day work they works at a much lower average speed because they can't sustain such a high frequency and power usage for a long period of time. But benchmarks are usually done in just a few minutes so intel CPUs looks much better than they really are. It's misleading.

I think we are going to see typos with the 7700X and 7700k.. and people might start "deliding" (well, trying to) the 7700X because they are reading a 7700k deliding guide... ;-)

I want to see AMD retain their performance while upgrading the efficiency to make temps better.

And you forget to mention Intel will power consumption hot house winner also with a power draw upto 350w so start thinking of really expensive cooling !
