Bhagat singh was angry with his father for writing mercy petition to the govt. In our country, as said accurately in the movie manjunath(another hero).."Everyone wants a bhagat singh, but in one's neighbour's house, not in one's own!"

He was punished for real unlike gandhi or nehru. His condition was terrible, British saw him as a threat. They let gandhi go many times to keep the moobs in control, there comes the difference between extremist and moderates. Extremists were the only who wanted independence as soon as possible while moderates were passive

To the viewers: Whilst they make you choose remember that you don't have to. Each and every single one of the freedom fighters, no matter the size of their contribution, was son of this soil and you can very easily love and respect all of them.

Alas, where Gandhi always tried to see the best in people and introduced a doctrine of trust in politics, Savarkar was the polar opposite.

The facts presented here are not false, and its true savarakar openly abused mahatma gandhi, and gandhi ji still fought for his release from the jail (there is a reason he's called a MAHATMA), Savarkar took pension from the british as well, and was involved in gandhi ji's murder, the man who fought for his release..

Enough of Savarkar's mercy petitions, let's talk about Gandhi's petitions to European Leaders during the 2nd world war, appealing to them to lay down their arms when 'Herr Hitler and Signor Mussolini' decide to invade their nations, which was ofc spurned and disregarded by European leaders, also how about we discuss the fact that Gandhi compelled more than a million Indian men to fight Britain's wars and sent aid to the Brits during WW2? Who's a bigger traitor here, a man who plotted the assassination of an oppressor and spent a decade in Cellular Jail, or the ones who served Britain's interests for 20 years while sipping tea at the Agha Khan palace?

When Pakistan was created, Gandhi and his so called "sarv-dharm-sambhav" approach LOST, and LOST BIGGG ! Its never wise to trust snakes. Savarkar knew this all too well.

There were many more prisoners other than Savarkar who endured way more torture than Savarkar. For instance Mohit Moitra, Mahavir Singh Rathore and Mohan Kishore Namdas, yet the BJP government named the port Blair Airport after Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. His disciples had more courage than him, which included Madan Mohan Dhingra, Anant Laxman Kanhere. This guy wrote many mercy petition to British, gave himself the title "Veer", a staunch ally of British, also an atheist.
P.S:Not a Nehru or Gandhi supporter.

Jawaharlal Nehru was lodged in Nabha jail, his father Motilal Nehru had petitioned to the Viceroy, promising that his son would never enter Nabha again and he (Jawaharlal Nehru) had signed a bond to that effect. Should we talk about this?

the british considered savarkar a danger to india and held him in jail from 1911 to 1937, 26 years, those people who make fun of him for being a coward, I am asking you, Can you stay in solitary confinement for 26 years, how about 6 days? no? then don't criticise him, he did it for india and not himself, he realised he cannot fight for freedom in jail, he literally jumped of a boat, swam to port Marseille, france across an ocean and the british illegally arrested him in france

Clemency and mercy are synonymous but not the same. While mercy is complete absolvence from prison torture and punishment, clemency means lenient punishment without any torture. Savarkar asked for clemency but Sir Reginald Craddock stated that as being a mercy petition. Vikram Sampath made the correct interpretation of Savarkar's letter, stating that Savarkar asked for clemency, which is a more lenient jail term.

People only say he is british puppet, but in reality nehru and gandhi were british puppet.
People judge savarkar because he was bramhin support RSS and because of mercy petition.
But if you ever think on this, even shivaji maharaj made deal with Mughals for 40 forts, and many factors saying to be loyal because he wanted to get a right time to to distroy Mughals and to save swarajya . Inspired from great chatrapati shivaji maharaj, savarkar did the same .... He fought for independence, fought for Hindus, and applied same strategy as shivaji maharaj. But people try to blame and to dishonour him .. this is so sad . 😭😭😭..

The quint is very shrewd selective quoting shri savarkar's clemency petition
Savarkar in his first petition wrote that while all other prisoners arrested with him were released he was not. The food that was served was terrible. Inhumane labour was imposed on the prisoners. Sampath is not wrong.
