How to use a laser to make a level deck

In this video I show you how we use a laser to mark our 6x6 posts so that we may cut a notch to accommodate our (x2) 2x10 beam.

That’s an awesome little trick with the laser. Never seen someone so it like that. Can use a normal laser level instead of a rotary one. Nice video man

Thank you... getting ready to build out a loft in our barn/shop, and I need to hang glulams and joists about 13' off the floor, but the floor's not going to be reliably level enough. Wondered how you'd actually get the laser level mark high enough... duh. Nice simple explanation. Thank you.

You showed using the laser to get one reference point and use that reference point to calculate the other elevation. I think it is way faster and more straight forward if you just use a simple transparent water tube to find the correct level/elevation at any point basing the science that water seeks its own level.
