You should probably mention this method works with a cleared game file. Doing it on a fresh save doesn't reload the giant rings.

I just wish there were more rings to collect in the special stages. I know it’s meant to be challenging, but I’m not gonna lose to every single giant ring and restarting the entire game again

Well, while this only works with cleared saves, if you pause the game while in the stage before you fail, open task manager, and close the game using task manager, you will be able to get into the same ring again. Although, there are two problems with this. 1: You cannot use the same ring over and over again after you do get the chaos emerald from it. 2: When you reload your save, it will send you back to the beginning of the zone, so while you can use the same ring until you succeed, you have to get there again each time. This can be annoying if you're on the second act of a zone.

if it doesnt work then here's another trick:

when your about to fail in the special stage, just quickly close the application right before you fail and then open it again, this works for the PC version, but i am not 100% sure if it will work on PS4, XBOX, Nintendo Switch

There is another way you can retry the special stage. You need to access the dev menu then if you fail the special stage you can retry it again

How to try the special stage again:






Find another giant ring and try again.

Here's one that takes less time (I only know that it works on the Xbox One. The Switch and Playstation are a mystery to me) Once you run out of time or fall off the edge pause the game. Then move closer to the console. Unpause it and as the screen fades to white turn off the Xbox. As soon as you are able to put it on, do it. If you take too long it won't work. Now it's back on resume playing but DON'T SIGN IN BEFORE THIS. It will return you to the title screen and there you can sign in again. Finally reload your save and you should start below the ring with a reset time and reset ring. Now you can jump in and restart the special stage

What I did before is I close the application as soon as I fail the special stage and open the save file up again and try again. I now going to use this method because it’s faster and I don’t have to shut off the game.

I know a REAL TRICK, in the moment you lose the special stage, pause the game, go to admin of work and sonic mania finish and you can try

when I got the game the moment it relesed I noticed that there where 2 bugs one where when you loose all your lives it would take you to the title screen and when you came back if you where in act 2 when you lost your lives it would take you there instead of act one and because of this bug if you quit the game when you where about to loose on a special stage you could quit the game and go back to the stage instead of the special ring diapering it would re spawn (this happend before you finished the game)

For some reason whenever i press Y/Triangle, it just gives me one Mach, even if I haven’t collected a single orb, so i just spammed Y/Triangle until i get max Mach bonus.
