The twin crises of climate change and rising economic inequality demand serious solutions that rise to the speed, scope, and scale of these challenges. Given their unique leverage in our economic system, organized workers have always been central to social struggles of all kinds, and have a critical role to play in the transition to a fairer and low-carbon economy. However, although rosy projections about "millions of green jobs" are often touted by proponents of renewables like solar and (offshore) wind, nothing about the quality of jobs in these industries is assured, and it's up to all of us to make sure this transition is a just transition. Join Francis Eanes from the Maine Labor Climate Council will talk about the approaches, policies, and alliances required to make this happen.
