▸ The JOJOLands (ザ・ジョジョランズ) is the ninth and current part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It was announced in the September 2021 issue of Ultra Jump and began serialization in the March 2023 issue.
▸ The story takes place on the volcanic islands of contemporary Hawaii. Jodio Joestar, a young boy living on Oahu Island, aspires to become extremely rich by reaching the apex of the world's mechanisms. As for what he plans to do to achieve his goals, an unpredictable story unfolds in the islands woven with light and shadow.
▸ The JOJOLands represents the third part of the series set in the second continuity, also known as the "Steel Ball Run Universe".

I have a personal feeling that the user of Bags Groove will be named AJR just because of running theme of three letter acronyms. Also I have a theory that the ideas of fate in parts 7, 8, and 9 are a reference to "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" with the spin being the good, calamity being the bad, and the absurd being the ugly. Also I just realized that Hawaii is sort of a middle point between Japan (Jojolion) and the mainland U.S.A (Steel Ball Run) so this could mean that the absurd is sort of a mix between the spin and calamity.

It is guiding fate by causing both blessings and calamity.

I love how once again Araki finds a new way to play with the theme of Fate and its consequences. I’m sure we’ll go more into the cost of using the lava rock as we go on, and it’s cool that it’s essentially acting as part of a throughline connecting all the parts of this new universe, as it’s definitely going to be connected to the Devil’s Palm stuff.

This reminds me how it is said that taking lava rocks from the land of hawaii causes bad luck. It feels like Araki is combining the premise of a cure like part 8 and the fate of part 7. Just some food for thought. This also coincides with the end of part 5 and destiny.

I think the girl acting all excited and interested in the hula cat thing was just an act from her to cover the attempt to bribe the guards. "It's all oh wow, she really wants this thing, here I'll 'buy' it off you just take this money."

Something that you mentioned that I never even thought abt was calling the negative effects of the rock we saw in this chapter an "absurd event". And connecting it back to the Absurd event from one of the previous chapters. What if that too wqs Howlers doing, why pin the entire blame on Jodio's father? It's likely that stuff just like this happened and resulted in the huge payout. Maybe this will affect our main characters mainly Dragona or Jodio when they connect those dots. The Lava Rock causes "absurd events" to gather wealth. Jodio will have his answer as to "why us? Why my family?" When it came to why absurd events happen

Why is nobody mentioning the part where Dragona tells Usagi to take the straw out of his chest and that she "has a band aid"

I’d say the gangs pursuit using the Lava Rock is similar to Johnny’s selfish pursuit of the Holy Corpse. He caused a lot of death and destruction to be able to walk again and use his abilities. I think by the end of this part they’ll have to choose what thing that they find most valuable will be saved, their wealth or loved ones. I’d be interesting if the literal value of love trumps everything in the mechanism. It’s cliche but I can see that being a conflict
