Who invented the first calendar?

While we generally assume that the Sumerian calendar is the oldest one we have, dating back to 5000 years ago. However, its possible that there exists a calendar developed by women over 20,000 years ago!

In the 1950's, scientists discovered what is known as the Ishango bone, which is now considered to be the world's first method of noting, counting and displaying numbers.

Examinations caused scientists to believe that it was an attempt at making a 6 month lunar calendar, to be used to keep track of women's menstrual cycles!
