The new Caledonian Sleeper train from London to Scotland

The video shows a club room with shower & toilet, double room, seats car, club car, food & breakfast. Yes, these new sleeper trains even have some rooms with double beds!

The Caledonian Sleeper is my favourite way to reach Scotland, and it just got better. Great to finally have the option of an en suite toilet & shower. Food, wine and whisky in the club car are as good as ever. This first ever trip hit the headlines for the wrong reasons, we were several hours late into Edinburgh - but as scheduled arrival was 5am I wasn't bothered. #traintravel #sleepertrain

Excellent video and I can't wait to give this a go. Disappointing to see such ignorance in the comments section already with posters clearly not understanding what a sleeper service is all about. The reason it takes 8 hrs is so that passengers can get a full night's sleep and for many it saves the cost of a hotel room. Also, leaving central London at 22.00 and awaking in central Edinburgh at 07.00 and having breakfast and a shower before you start your day is extremely civilised and a much nicer option than getting up at 04.30 to catch the first flight from Heathrow.

I recently took the train to Edinburgh from Kings Cross! What an amazing journey for someone from North America. Although it was the regular train and not the Caledonian, it was still nice to see the british countryside. I’ll be doing the Caledonian sleeper now I’ve seen this

Absolutely love night trains, and travel on them as often as I can. Relaxing, romantic, and the motion of the train is wonderful for inducing sleep. But I wish they'd include couchettes on the two British services, as travelling solo makes it prohibitively expensive when your only choice is a private cabin.

We took the sleeper london to Inverness last April. The old trains were a little rough around the edges but still great and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. Looking forward to trying the new trains one of these days.

I took a shot of Euston station concourse from the very same place, and I was confronted by security staff claiming my actions could have been seen as a security risk. They didn't like it when I mentioned the whole area was already covered by 360 degree panorama coverage on Google Street view. I saw this set at Glasgow Central this morning and I thought it looked 'different'. Now I know why! Great video.

I travelled on the sleeper London to Edinburgh in 1994 with my father We did a round Scotland rail trip I had a first class (white) priv and he had a relative's priv so it was all very cheap We loved the sleeper service, so relaxing, this looks great as well

The most I would miss from old coaches are the door windows you could open and take some photos of Scottish breathtaking views along the tracks!

We went on the old one last year and my only complaint is the bed sheets. Too rough and our skin couldn't cope with the itchiness. It was difficult to fall asleep. But apart from that it was a very nice experience that we will repeat again for sure 😍
