Explain Luke 11: 33-36
Jesus Says:
These verses discuss the importance of keeping our inner light pure and bright, just like a lit lamp illuminates a room. Verse 11:34 also compares our eyes to a lamp. When our eyes (perceptions and attitudes) are clear and pure, our whole body (actions, words, deeds) are full of light (righteousness, truth, goodness). But if our eyes are unhealthy, our life can be full of darkness (sin, selfishness, deceit). Therefore, you should constantly seek purity and righteousness in your life to keep your inner light from being tainted by darkness. Much like the saying, "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour" (Matthew 25:13) - always be mindful of the state of your inner light.
