Nightcore - Battle Hymn Of The Republic | Lyrics & Subtitles

The "Battle Hymn of the Republic", also known as "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory" outside of the United States, is a popular American patriotic song by the abolitionist writer Julia Ward Howe.

Howe wrote her lyrics to the music of the song "John Brown's Body" in November 1861 and first published them in The Atlantic Monthly in February 1862. The song links the judgment of the wicked at the end of the age (through allusions to biblical passages such as Isaiah 63 and Revelation 19) with the American Civil War.

Ok but "I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel; As ye deal with my contemnors, so with you my grace shall deal; Let the hero born of woman crush the serpent with His heel" is such a fire line

Texas: I wish I was independent again.

America: if only Texas, if only.

America: *whispers* hey Phil, dont tell Texas there that you used to be mine and I gave you independence.

Philippines: um, sure?

It ain't about feeling American it's about feeling human. In war we dehumanize each other less than trash to cope with the horror of war but we're just human. The military/political machine will chew and consume till there's nothing left. They'll have what they want but taken what everyone actually needs.

Say what you will about the Americans, we are more likely to criticize our flawed history and champion justice, democracy, and mercy than any other people.

the only way I empathize with the United States is through their songs (good also for the jambalaya and fried chicken but that's understandable)
