As an American from the country, I have loved watching reaction videos to this song, especially ppl from other countries. This song and video gives a glimpse into what it’s like to be an American man. The majority are good ones and a few bad ones. The good ones police the bad ones. We protect women from evil.

I recently discovered this song and have watched many reactions to it. It's absolutely heartbreaking to scroll through the comments and see how many women, including myself, can relate to these lyrics and have prayed for someone like this. Because we all know the law doesn't protect us until it's too late! If you go into the song with the mindset that "everything happens for a reason", these lyrics make perfect sense. He was lost in a small town he'd never been to before during a thunderstorm and he comes across a woman in desperate need of a hero! I'm extremely biased whether he was right or wrong in his actions. However, if I had been his defense attorney I would have bent, twisted, manipulated and argued the justifiable homicide defense until it fit his "crime". Sometimes doing the right thing and obeying the law are two completely different things!

I love listening to this song. This makes me cry everything I list to this. I remember my mom being in that spot when I was 16 years old. Me and my mom was beaten to death. But at the end we where save by a angel 😇

There are thousands of women that prayed for a man like that to come save us. He did what he knew he had to, we all know that the justice system won't do anything except slap on the wrist. Love this song

Not everyone can leave. We need men like this and need to honor them, not convict them.

This is what a real man is. Wait in the Truck while I handle this sh*t once and for all.

Listened to this song at work and decided I needed to listen to it again so I looked it up on my phone. It hits too close to home for me. I've been where she was. But I didn't have someone who helped me like that

if this song doesn't bring a tear to your eye then there is something wrong with you.

I live in Eastern Kentucky and my hometown just lost 3 police officers and a K-9 officer just doing their job, they were serving a DVO and were gunned down. After hours and hours of a standoff 4 dead and several more injured. One deputy lost his leg. Sometimes deadly force is the only option. Sad but true. I live in a very small town and never dreamed anything like that would have happened here 😢😢

3 things you need to understand about American country boys:
1- We don't put up with women beaters or child beaters.
2- Wait in the truck means there's about to be bloodshed. Who's and how much will be determined by what happens inside.
3- Sometimes you gotta pay a price for doing what needs to be done.

He didn't ask for mercy from the court because he knew that he deserved to pay for his crime. He asked for mercy from the Lord and to please see the content of his heart.

I'm a DV survivor. I was abused physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically, environmentally. He was my husband. He sexually abused me so bad, I couldn't sit right and bled for a week. Police and lawyer said since we were married, the law at the time didn't protect me. He threatened to hurt my elderly parents down street or disappear with our son. He was low down enough to do it too. I was so trapped. Lawyer also said, if I left, law saw it as abandonment, so that SOB would get my family home and land that I was paying for. I had steady job and held the insurance. I was our sons life line. Anywhere I could have run, he knew how to find. So leaving isn't simple. Not by a long shot. He got sloppy with side chick and I got what I needed for court to divorce him. I got the house I was paying for. Awhile later I met my angel. We have been married 20 years. He loves, protects and respects me. I'm blessed. But at one time, I wish I had waited in the truck.

Seeing you cry made me cry 😥
Ik some people wonder why a woman doesn't leave an abuser and the answer can be different from person to person. For me, I was blindsided. We were at a friend's house for a cook out. Another guest, a guy friend of my boyfriend's, sat down next to me and all I said was "Where is Kat? Did she come with you?" Kat being the guy's gf. He said they had broken up and I just said I was sorry hear that.. Nothing else. I look over and my boyfriend is staring daggers at me. He scoots me away from his and whispers in my ear that they're getting back together so I need to back off and stop flirting. I was so confused.. And suddenly scared of who I thought was a good guy. I tell him I'm leaving bf he makes a scene but he follows me to the front porch. Next thing I know, I'm knocked to the ground with him standing over me holding a bookshelf over his head and over my body.. The woman who lived there had the 3 ft tall bookshelf outside drying bc she had painted it. But Mr. "Nightmare after a few drinks" didn't care, and slammed it on my chest and the arm I had held up, then was pissed when it didn't break so he picked it up again and shattered it right above my head with everybody yelling at him to stop. I went to the hospital and he went to jail. I did break up with him btw. But, he stalked me for a long time. The last straw was, one night, I was eating at a Chinese restaurant with a friend and his drunk ass walks in and sits at our table. He's demanding that I get up and leave with him. 😳 Of course I say no so he decides to start kicking my chair then my legs. I literally had to run from him, thru this restaurant and into the bathroom. This was bf cell phones so I couldn't call anybody. The staff had to hold him back while I ran from the bathroom to my bronco in the parking lot! I made it inside my truck bf he could break away and run outside. As I'm backing out, this idiot jumps on my hood and rips my windshield wipers off..well not off but tangled them really bad and cracked my windshield by punching it. When he went to kick my windshield with his boot I hit the gas then break real quick, flinging him off 😁
The most embarrassing part was my boss and her family had pulled in just in time to see the outside show. I didn't know that part until Monday morning 😢
But that night, my 6'4, University of Kentucky football player, brother, his teammate and his gf stayed the night at my place. At 4 am I hear loud yelling and stuff breaking, I run downstairs to find my ex had broken in my back door, only to be intercepted by 2 U of K football players who taught him a very painful lesson. Plus he went back to jail for breaking in. There's more but I'd seriously be here for days.
But I guess my point is ... Sometimes you leave and they still refuse to leave you alone. My ex physically and mentally abused me After I left him for putting me in the hospital. Some woman beaters just need 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

One of the most romantic songs ever, imo. Call me twisted, I couldn't care less. There's a shortage of real men these days...
