I'd love some sort of jungle map, something like Brazil, Nicaragua etc., would make for a pretty difficult yet ice free map

I'm playing the base game, bought it a week ago in the sale. Doing the parts of Michigan that don't have a garage. Maybe it's because I don't have access to the best trucks but the difficulty is spot on for me. Getting the white star out of the mud (fixer upper) was super challenging, but I did it! I have to carefully plan how to go into the ares that don't have garages etc. It's absolutely fantastic :)

Sadly since year 3 pass, regions are too easy and have too many paved roads. Most of maps are also placed in "modern" areas with towns or farms. I wish to see more wasteland and almost abandoned areas like Kola or Amur

After I finished the Kola peninsula, Wisconsin felt like a welcome walk in the park, even though it does have some pretty swampy areas. Now just having finished Amur, I'm enjoying the ice-free nature of Don. So you're right, it is good to have a mix of easy and hard regions.

I’m enjoying Kola at the moment. I like the big views and scale of environment. I would like the idea of a kola style map but with lots of sand dunes. Maybe the coast of Western Sahara. Shipwreck beach and the long train line. Perfect for missions!

I would not mind seeing a region with wider paths but have a high amount of deep mud/snow/whatever as long as there are narrower more technically challenging paths that smaller trucks can use. So that way the player can choose either wide, super slow path for max cargo per trip; or narrow, tricky routes with less cargo per trip but are much faster per trip. This way it is up to player preference in which type of path, truck, and trailer combo they want to use.

Absolutely. 100% percent what I expect from the future maps! Amur and Kola are my favorite maps!

My only issue with "hard" maps, is that the devs seem to think making us go through obnoxiously deep mud, or hiding obstacles behind obstacles, hiding missions behind other missions, making us take a stupid amount of cargo a long way, or a simple "fuck you" bouncy tree (Imandra), or the "get fucked" angled pole (Amur), is designed to do nothing other than waste player time. Tree roots, unfixable roads & bridges, as well as multiple trips so we just ruin a road, are not fun. It's poor game design.

Not because the devs bothered to make routes that test our route planning, fuel management, overloading, driving skill (in terms of balance or navigating a challenging path). On that note, making us take the biggest trailers down the smallest paths and unrealistic destinations is also not fun ...

But I agree, a harder map would be awesome, if the devs did it right.

Would love to see at least one more difficult region. We've monsters in the garage just waiting for a challenge.

I really enjoy your videos! Very informative and entertaining

You touched on it in the video, one positive about easier maps is being able to enjoy using a greater variety of trucks. For example, I used highway trucks (like the Western Star 57X) for Ontario which was a good fun!

I'm ok with hard regions like Kola Peninsula and Amur, but I wish they would make the roads more realistic, safe, and satisfying to drive on. And add Scout friendly routes, make the cranes stronger, and add the big heavy fuel tanker trailer to the trailer store(the one that requires saddle high).

(Trucks that need buffs)
CAT 754C: chained tires, water tank.
CAT 770G: chained tires, water tank, AWD, and better steering.
Khan Marshall: the ability to tow trailers, higher fuel capacity, and chained tires.
Royal BM17: diff lock.
International Transtar 4070: diff lock.
Ford CLT 9000: diff lock.
International HX 520: a proper snorkel and raised suspension.
CAT CT680: raised suspension.
CAT CT681: raised suspension.
TUZ Tatarin: snorkel and chained tires.
International Loadstar: fuel tank addon, water tank addon, and tow truck addon.
Pacific p12: stronger engine, log crane combined with medium and short log addon.
Pacific p16: chained tires.
Pacific p512: chained tires.
Zikz 605R: chained tires

I also wish they would stop adding pot holes, rocks in the middle of the road, bridges that cannot be fixed, roadblocks that cannot be cleared, fallen power lines that cannot be fixed, barriers that do not go away when you clear a road block or fix a bridge, unbreakable trees, missions that are very tedious and time consuming.

A Desert Region would be super super cool indeed, I´m playing Amur right now, just finished openning up the chernokamensk garage, and It´s really putting my Snowrunner skills to test. Its a amazing change of pace from the other regions i played. eveything matters. Using DAN, 5600TS, Derry Special, FEMM 37, YAR, Voron-D, Voron Grad and 73210 for most tasks, DAN with active suspension proving to be amazing with the flexible frame.

I think we need a different type of map. Kola and Amur aren’t necessarily hard they’re just artificially slowed way down with super deep snow. Maybe they should make the map actually hard, with much more aggressive camber changes on routes and unfixable road bridges with long detours. Sand is also a terrain that they haven’t really used yet, but I have a sneaky suspicion that they’re actually intentionally avoiding it because they plan on giving us SandRunner as the next game

Definitely more hard regions! or at least really tough maps within a region!
I've just finished Amur and yes it was tough and took a lot of planning but with trucks like the 612H it isn't impossible and the sense of achievement when you crack it is great!
I agree that increasing the terrain difficulty but reducing the amount of cargo per contract would be rewarding, rather than just more stuff to deliver!

Honestly what i want is not hard but well crafted maps, remember the joy of Michugan and Alaska? They had so so many missions all different meanwhile trash like Yukon has 5 missions in both maos combined and for each of those you carry 80 slots worth of cargo it's pathetic how little of a shit was given when that was made.
I want maps that have many many smaller easier missions that make an impact rather than maps with a couple contracts that are nothing but carrying 10 million cargos in that one and only place.
Twi things i wish we got was:
ONE - a rlly rlly huge 4 maps region that has almost no offroading but instead only roads so we can use weak trucjs and tbe highway class similar to the Highway Hauling maps.
TWO - a desert region with sands and quicksands and such maybe an oasis here and there, maybe have missions to carry water supplies to different villages and such, idk i want a change from either the snowy forest area or muddy forest area.

The Voron AE is one of my favs. The Bandit is fun, but it's too tippy.
I'm new to Snowrunner so I'm still learning. Thanks for the videos!

Im late to this video, And i know we already received a BC map however a norther Alberta or BC in a region that was hit by a wildfire would be very interesting. Imagine trying to climb hill in the Rocky's stuck in muskeg with all your winch spots being compromised because they are burnt trees, Washed out goat track roads that if not driven correctly would end up with your truck and cargo falling off cliffs. I think that would be really cool. Im thinking based around the Coquihalla Highway.

I want a Spintires style map/region (without so many bugs) that makes you want to throw your monitor out of the window. Zero pavement or maybe just one out of four maps has roads. In Russia in the summertime during rainy season. With an epic river crossing. Game has been too easy for too long now that we have all these great trucks. Haven't felt pain in a while, or the subsequent satisfaction after conquering a real challenge. Just one painful region and then they can go back to the easy stuff. I would add that I'm one of those masochists who like the contracts which force you to make a lot of runs to deliver large amounts of cargo, so I want more difficulty AND more missions where you're forced to make those trips ( like real life.) The key here is to have a proper pay-off so all those trips actually seem worthwhile, at least once you're done. I also hope they can figure out how to make weather more impactful to the gameplay experience, where, for example, a road/trail becomes more difficult during a rainstorm or perhaps snow/ice covered after a winter storm. Then, make it random so every time you play the map the experience will be just a bit different due to those weather conditions. I like some of the other ideas in this thread too, like a difficult jungle map. Good conversation to have. Thanks for the video

I'm not so sure, a lot of people might disagree but there's pretty difficult maps and then there's just insanely slow slogs, not sure I want a slog like Amur, I would like a challenging map though.
