Magnitude and Direction of a Vector, Example 1. Here we find the magnitude (length) of some vectors and find the angle associated with them.
Note that to find the magnitude of the vector we simply use the Pythagorean Theorem with the components of the vector. To find the angle we simply use tangent.
In this video I also sketch / draw each vector.

ye, cuz its not what direction the 3 is in, its how far it is from the origin which would be 3 units. kinda like moments of a force

why, exactly, do we need to use arctangent, and when (in which scenarios)? Our school books give randomized problems in which they'll show how to do it with. Is it only in this occasion? what is it used for?

arc tangent means inverse, we need the inverse to find the angle its just basic phythagoras.
