With the December 15th milestone now behind is, it's officially TRADE SEASON in the NBA, and for the first time in a while, the Raptors don't figure to be super involved in the action -- which is a major relief! In Episode 1770, Sean Woodley is joined by Joseph Casciaro (the Score) to talk about the Toronto Raptors in the lead-up to the 2025 NBA Trade Deadline, why they don't figure to be major players, which guys could get moved, and whether we could get caught off guard by any surprises between now and February. Off the top, Sean and Cash rejoice at the Raptors not being the main characters of this deadline, and discuss why a Jakob Poeltl trade would make very little sense for the team at this juncture. Next, they get into the team's expiring players: Davion Mitchell, Chris Boucher and Bruce Brown Jr., and whether the Raptors will get much return if any for the three pending free agents. Lastly, Sean and Cash finish up with a chat about some farfetched pre-deadline scenarios. Could the Raptors get eager and make a buying move at this deadline to get a head start on their offseason? And what's the furthest they'd feel comfortable with the Raptors going in on a godfather offer for Herb Jones of the New Orleans Pelicans?

Raptors need to go for Goga Bitadze from Orlando. Dude is 25 years old averaging 12 pts, 10.4 rebs and 1.4 Blks in his last 7 games while averaging 20-25 mins 🤯we can invest in him while Jak takes him under his wing

6:48 thank You for bringing this up. People getting a hard-on for late firsts when jak is top 10 in his class, is absurd to me. Its grass is greenerism at its finest

Too many teams are tanking. Its turning into a buyer's market. Ujiri never sells low even if he's looking at getting nothing. Who knows, maybe they'll even extend Bruce Brown. His value in free agency is probably around what KCP got plus inflation. That would be about what he's getting this season.

Godfather offers ideally should be reserved for the Centre position. The Suns and Warriors are both interested in Kelly, he should get traded there as a favour after the last four years stuck in tanking Houston, Detroit, Utah and now Toronto

Brown, Boucher, and Davion should all be traded, they don't factor into the teams future plans. If a team offers a 1st for Kelly, I'd think about it, but I don't see that happening so I think he stays, as for Jak, I would trade him, but not for peanuts, it has to be a very solid offer, if no solid offers are made, keep Jak, trade talks for him can resume in the summer or at the 2026 deadline.

I would consider moving Quickley for a player and draft picks and then keep Brown and resign him for a lower price next year. Brown & Shead can run the one spot next season, as Brown is a good defender and Barnes is going to be the point guard.
