Not sure if this counts, but season 20 of Worst Cooks in America is completely taken off because the winner of that season, Ariel Robinson, was convicted of murdering her adopted daughter

These are disturbing, especially the game killer. The lady really saved her life, feeling creep vibes from him. That was her spirit telling her 'LIVE!'

Hey WatchMojo: this is the only YouTube video I have ever seen that used the word 'recontextualized' ("... Our picks... that completely recontextualized how we watch our favorite game shows."). I don't know what you mean, but it sounds impressive! It certainly conveyed that what was to come would be incredibly revealing and insightful!

Hello, WatchMojo! My son said if you do a top 20, put Drew Dreschel winning season 11 of American Ninja Warrior. Drew was later found guilty of sexually assaulting a minor. This moment sent shockwaves around the ninja community. Until that point, he was a very respected competitor. For him, winning the million dollars on the show is even more starting. Thank you!

The Quiz Show scandal went even deeper than that, turned into a great movie from 1994 with Ralph Fiennes and John Turtorro, directed by Robert Redford. Check it out, it was even a Best Picture nominee.

How about the final episode of family feud with Ray Combs? That gentleman definitely seemed to be super depressed and upset

Years ago, there was a "Dog Eat Dog" episode where a contestant was dunked in water for a set amount of time, and was soon pulled out. After the challenge, he developed brain damage and had to cancel his appearance sooner than expected.

I’m calling it, the woman didn’t just dodge a bullet, she dodged a tactical nuke. Seriously, what we saw on the dating game was a serial killer at work luring in one of his victims. It also raises the the question: WHO THE HECK DID SUCH A BAD JOB AT BACKGROUND CHECKS THEM THAT THEY HAD A SERIAL KILLER!? This incident is probably why we have mental health screenings before people go on TV

Sounds like Netflix Version of Squid Game was almost a real life Snuff Game.

Dog eat dog was cancelled because a contestant almost died when a stunt did not release them properly when under water IIRC...

Besides Rodney I hadn't heard of any of these which is always always a good thing because I actually get to learn something

I mean, everyone involved in the filming of the original _Squid Game_ had satisfactory working conditions, so why couldn’t have the Squid Game: The Challenge contestants gone through filming without being subjected to red flag-raising conditions?

I’m really glad Nasubi was included. His story broke my heart when I first heard about it a while back.
He was unknowingly humiliated by not knowing his experience was going to be live streamed & the way they revealed he won while exposing his naked body in front of a live audience was terrible. Not to mention the extremely difficult & long time it took for him to get used to everyday social interactions & just wearing clothes in general.
It was so inhumane & should have never happened. The isolation must have been unbearable 💔

The Ryan Jenkins story is wild

He placed 3rd because production orchestrated it but Megan still wanted to date him and he knew this
After the show wrapped, she tried to reconnect with him but he had met and married someone else in less than a year because she thought he was a millionaire

Turns out all his money was actually from his parents and he didn’t have any millions that were actually his

His wife found out about this and left him so he went on I Love Money to win 250k, which he did, thinking it would win her back

When it didn’t, he flew into a rage and brutally murdered her to the point where she was mutilated and could only be identified by the serial number on her breast implants
