"It's at least 99% frustation, I think... but I still cannot prove it mathematically, so I get more frustrated. Then I realise frustration is a monotonic increasing function. This makes me realise I have discovered something new: "my frustration always increases". So I feel happy for that, and therefore less frustated, which contradicts my statement, and then the frustration loop starts again".

When I was young nobody told me such amazing things that a lot of frustration is an essential part of mathematics and it needs a lot of patience and everybody faces it even the best mathematicians.. I unnecessarily thought that I was dumb and gave up my mathematical career and started working as a software engineer, because it had instant money and instant results.. thank god we have internet now.. earlier it was like playing a blind game without much information as to what can happen, now at least we have some opinions of people.. earlier success depended much on one’s faith but now it can be an informed decision

Thanks for being humble. A brilliant mind like this mathematician is a good example of hard work and inspiration for the rest of human beings that we are trying to solve real world problems.

Someone who did a math degree at a top Russell group university, I agree. Most of the time you are lost trying to understand everything until yoi finally get a breakthrough.

Youd think he'd be exact: 99.735% frustration, for example. Not about 99%. Pfft!
