The oldest dog in the world Bobi (31), died recently. He was fed a diet of the same human food their owners ate, except washed in water to rinse off seasonings and spices.

Switched from feeding our dog organic dog food to real food we make and our dogs hair grew back in her bald spots! Her energy levels are up where before she would sleep all day. She's like a puppy again.

My family had a dog that had chronic health problems and was going to be put down because of some disease he had.
We had a farewell party for him and gave him all the steak and meat he could eat to the point where he was literally hiding it in his bed because he couldn't eat it all.
Guess what happened when they took him to the vet to be put down; he no longer had that disease and went onto live another 2 years!

I feed my dog farmers dog and the vet was criticizing me for giving that to him and said Purina and Science Diet are what all vets recommend. She said these boutique dog food companies have more advertising dollars to trick people into over paying for food. Ironic that the one she recommended literally infiltrated universities to sell their dog food.

Confirm! I gave my pet raw food for 3 months and his kidney, heart all return to normal. Don't give them dry or wet pet food. they are worst than McDonald for human.

Before my old dog passed away, we fed him a specialized, doctor prescribed stew made of sweet potato, carrots, the tiniest bit of chicken and some supplements, which looked like orange apple sauce. He had severe liver and kidney issues and could not process meat proteins at all. He had never eaten a single bit of kibble since birth. The doctors said he would last one year, he lived 7. It really goes to show that not feeding them trash can make a great difference. R.I.P Balingo, proud of you for holding out so long!

Purina is what my rescue dog was being fed when I adopted her, the shelter was sponsored by Purina and they also sold it there (and no other brands). It was obvious that they expected all adopted dogs to buy Purina for life. She would never eat her food all in one go at meal times, she would leave it and come back later when she was so hungry that it was the only option. We quickly changed to another much higher quality brand which is grain free and 75% *real* chicken, not meal, she absolutely loves it! Eats it all in one go, is more energetic, her coat is so shiny and healthy!

I was hired as a receptionist for a vet clinic when I was younger, and they sent us for training on pet food. People think I spoil my pets because I will only feed them higher quality food, but I know they are poisoning their pets. Never buy your pet food from the grocery stores, it's all crap. It's worth it to go to a proper pet food store and read the labels. I get my dog meals made with human grade food.

My grandma never believed in "dog food". Her last dog (Pekingese) was fed the mediterranean diet - everything my grandma ate - poultry, vegetables, sometimes cooked rice, or whatever was left over from "human" food etc. The dog never had any major health issues, only went blind later due to age, and ended up living to be 18 (they live around 12 to 14 years usually). Grandma also had multiple dogs before, most of which lived over their expected lifespan. If I will ever have a dog/cat/pet in the future, I would definetely follow grandma's ways.

Omg... this was a lot more disturbing than I expected. I'm absolutely disgusted. I feel terrible for feeding this to my pets, I really trusted our vet who said it's the most balanced meal, Jesus Christ!

my dog just passed away yesterday. I started feeding him real meat for the last couple of years of his life. I really wish i had started earlier. I loved cooking fresh ground beef and chicken and giving him nice crispy real bacon. His name was Boss. 2008 - 2023 RIP
