I looove The Picture of Dorian Gray! The descriptions in that book are vividly insane! Definitely deserves that 5 star rating 😍

I had the same reaction with The Picture of Dorian Gray so when I hear other people reviewing it and they treat it in an objective way it kind of intrudes upon my experience of it because when I read the book, I felt fundamentally changed (don’t know how yet) so yeah. I love the book so much, I don’t know how to talk about it.

I absolutely agree with what you feel about The Picture of Dorian Gray. I read it last October and was blown away. It is a unique experience that I crave for every time I think about the book. I would want every reader and non-reader to go through this amazing experience at least once in their life!!!

I'm home and can finally give my thoughts!

I picked up The Picture of Dorian Grey this month thanks to you going on about it <3 I'm a bit scared of read it because my sister loves it (she also studied art history) but she told me about a scene in the book I don't think I'm prepared for (I hope you enjoyed my run on sentence there).

I wish I had enjoyed The Golden Compass but I picked it up in Spanish and couldn't get into it. I might try again in English and see if that helps.

I think you did amazing with reading this month! Hopefully exams and your concussion will let you read more next month.

I have been wanting to read the Portrait of Dorian Gray, it is such a classic and I have never actually read it ( even though I know the story). I also haven't brought myself to read ACOTAR, I read Throne of Glass and Didn't love it and I've been pretty put off of all of the Sara J Maas books... it just doesn't seem like ly style

Since you like polar fantasy/exploration, if you're ever in the mood for nonfiction, Cold by Ranulph Fiennes is a great book. It's a memoir by one of the greatest modern explorers we have, and I simply adore the man.

I adore His Dark Materials, definitely think you should keep reading the series because it only gets better!! Unfortunately I don’t recommend the movie or tv series...the movie was embarrassingly bad and the tv series was way off the mark IMO. Also if you plan to watch the show, make sure to finish the books first!!! The show kind of melds all the books together so even the first episode has spoilers for later books.
