Salvini wants to force a snap election as his League Party is gaining popularity for its tough stance on immigration.

The only reason Salvini has high consensus is thanks to the immigration problem. Salvini stopped a program that used to patrol Southern Italian sea border with Libia and used to intercept illegal and NGO ships. Once the patrol program has been canceled, the ships arrive very close to the Italian coasts (Lampedusa) and Salvini can do his mediatic show against them. He did this for the last year and continues doing so. He doesn't want to solve this problem. He needs immigrant to fight against and raise consensus.
