Kevin Harvick managed to nab the victory at Michigan International Speedway and in doing so blew up the NASCAR Playoffs in a big way. Not only did this manage to hurt many on the cutline but it also may have thrust Harvick into the championship conversation as well. So today we are going to look into this change. We also will ask the big question, “Has Kevin Harvick entered the 2022 NASCAR Championship discussion?”

I’ve been telling y’all all season, Harvick is not the problem! If his team can give him a race winning capable car he’s a serious threat for the championship 4 round! Harvick isn’t washed up he’s still got it

I believe he will be a contender.

Remember, last year, he was behind the rest of the field because of a lack of bonus points. This didn’t get in his way though and he finished fifth in the standings, the best of the rest of the playoff drivers.

Personally, I think this is his last chance to win championship #2 but for now, he is not done yet.

I always listen to Dale Jrs podcast episode with Kevin back in 2021 and I try to put all the pieces in place to understand what he’s trying to prove and I agree with what he says completely that 2021 was a year where he hasn’t won all year and I feel bad for him but he’s a good driver...

He’s been in the sport for a long time since Rockingham ‘01 after Srs passing and like you said he has more experience.

Yes he’s from the Winston Cup era and he may struggle here and there often but he’s a decent driver... he’s the 2007 Daytona 500, 2014 Cup Champion, a few Brickyard 400s and two xfinity titles under his belt and I hope he still does good maybe a couple more wins before he could retire at some point... he’s very open minded for the sport trying to look after it almost the exact same way Dale Sr. did and I feel like I’m same way... but I hope I’m not the only one who thinks like this...

Y’all are saying this to early harvick won one race so I would wait until playoffs if he starts showing in the top 10 and top 5 more at more tracks

Threat? The guy choked away a 9 win season. He’s a threat to nobody this year.

With the current playoff format he was never not a threat. He’s Kevin Harvick for God’s sake

This season, Harvick is always a threat; but a long shot. 3 decent races in a row with minimal playoff points, I see him likely out round 2

Lol no
But he can go far with the speed he has showed recently

Iceberg: "He's not exactly been as good as in years past, but really, other than Chase Elliott, nobody has"
Ross Chastain and Tyler Reddick: "Are we jokes to you?"

I think Harvick could make a round of 8 run. I can see them carrying this momentum for the next 6 or 7 weeks, but not all the way to Phoenix. The SHR equipment combined with this being a down year for Ford doesn’t show me that the 4 team have what it takes to make it all the way.

I agree but in his 9 win season he did choke

Hey Iceberg, could you make a video about Kyle Busch’s struggles on track this year. Most would say he’s affected by off track but his only win is the fluke at Bristol dirt…

He’s a serious threat to win in Richmond as well

I'm a harvick fan since 2002 but I don't think one win makes him a contender, nor does regular top 10s...it's all about more wins and stage points.

i would love to see kevin and the 4 team win it all he has had speed for the last 5 races maybe they get good at the perfect time

I hated him so much with his rivalry with Chase last year but I really was pulling for him this past weekend👍😃

Only thing I disagree with was saying SHR was slow at Phoenix. Briscoe won, Harvick 6th, Almirola in 12th. Hell even Custer finished 16th which is way above what he’s been doing all season. SHR has not been great this year, but Phoenix was an outlier.

Maybe maybe not we’ll see.
Gut still says Elliott because of that early Summer run till Indy.
We’ll see.
