My mom introduced me to him and we watched in awe (on Youtube) during an incredible monsoon storm here in Tucson Arizona in 2020. I'll never forget that night.

My dream now is to go to the national theatre in Tokyo to watch a performance by Tamasaburo. Bucket list. I've only been into Kabuki a few months but it has absolutely beguiled me.

People throw words like Iconic and Legendary and Unique or Exceptional, on everything these days. But Tama'Chan is the very definition of Iconic and Legendary, he is the absolute best at his craft and there will never be another like him. He is a living legend of Kabuki and a national living treasure in Japan (literally). He is the very definition of dedication. There is not one artist on the planet who has worked this hard and this lond in one discipline as Mister Bando. He is the pinnacle of Onnagata, he has completely capture the essence of femininity. He is never a parody of women or a grotesque caricature, he is the very nature of femininity. Japanese women working in the arts seek advice from Tama'Chan to look more feminine. He will forever be the reference of female Kabuki actors and top of the range performance.
