Disabling attack to run around creatures and surround them is a common tactic used called “Attack switching”
It is by far one of the most useful tactics for maximizing DPS

Fun Fact: The "attack off" button doesn't entirely keep my ants from attacking. If a mantis in 3.1 attacks my minors, the minors will still attack it back.

Fun fact: Many EotU youtubers forget to turn on attack or food gathering after turning it off

800 hours here. Nice tips, can add more. Like with leafcutters, keep the leaf storage close to egg tiles for mini workers to get to them faster back and forward... And build more workers tiles to spawn more mini workers for food processing

Tip for 1.1: Try to lead the enemies especially adult beetles out of their lairs to better surround them, trying to swarm them in their spots will be harder compared to just expanding out your nest to swarm them

Very nice and different video to usual. I always forget the last tip, especially in the Matabele levels where the soldiers are so expensive, to the point where I don't have any food, and I don't have a strong enough army to traverse the savah to raid the termites without getting eaten by the many enemies!

1 thing I notice a lot of people struggle with is Leafcutter food production. Bringing leaves into the nest on food store tiles does not give you food, instead the food is made when leaves are moved from the stores to an unoccupied brood tile. It's recommended to have your stores near brood tiles to manufacture food really quickly. This will allow you to not build so many food store tiles and focus more on units. For example before I found out how this food system worked I would need 1000 leaf stores to sustain food production when I was positioning my brood tiles near the queen and not near the nest entrance but after I found this out I can get away with 200-300 leaf store, for Leafcutters I would specifically recommend building about 20 ADDITIONAL worker tiles right next to your Leaf stores. This will generate a ton of mini ants for cheap and give your mini ants ample brood tiles to convert leaves into food, put your waste stores nearby and you can generate a ton of food really easily and allow yourself to skimp on spending a bunch of real estate on leaf stores and having to needlessly excavate your nest.

Another thing for logistics planning is speed tiles, whether it be speeding up the leafcutter minors or what you can do is upgrade smaller amounts of ants faster since speed tiles around a brood tile give it levels and are super cheap.

Whenever I build a brood chamber I always put speed tiles at the entrance since they make it easier to upgrade everything to T3 and mark out a clean border.

in freeplay if you have a high dps ant species you can disable attack and rush their queen to minimize food loss

Upgrading ants is usually a bad idea since it is much more stat efficient to build an entire new ant than increase their stats a little. There are some exceptions: Fire ants are good to upgrade due to their duplicate ability, If you can’t fit any more ants into a space, like attacking another nest, upgrading is more efficient, and if you hit 100% upkeep in freeplay.

I have a thing to help new players for the queen of the hill only use workers and have 2 it worked for me i never neaded soldiers until i did hard mode and second thing with queen of the hill behind the entrence of the nest (inside nest) is 2 tiger bettle bodys (allot of food). For the first chalenge sub level only use soldiers that is what helped me to beat it but not on hard or higher. (Ps i am refuring to now not in the past what was harder)

At 4:05 it’s says trick 4 but at 4:58, it also says that so I think there’s a error there 😊

Tip for relocatable aphids: use a ratio of 2 aphids: 1 ant for collecting for effiency, and best to have workers do it since most things wouldn’t threaten the aphids except other ants which will steal them.
Tip for 4.1: Try to get the closest and easiest aphid group at the start of the day to jumpstart your eco. It helps immensely on harder difficulties since 54 food is a lot for fire ant respawns and placing
