I’m a Hispanic woman. We had diversity training at work, totally anti-white male. We were told to discuss this after in a meeting. I stood up against it. I called it out. It wasn’t in my personal interest to do so. I could keep quiet cause I was the demographic they wanted to promote. But racism is racism. After so many people came to me and said I was “so brave”. I thought, I’m not brave. I’m honest about what I see. Then I thought, where were you? I was standing alone. You’d have me to stand with you, why didn’t you stand up too?

He is spot on about this. The pandemic was so eye opening to me. I never thought in a million years that "friends" would be stand against me. I became as invisible as possible. The upside is, now I know who would throw me under the bus.

My neighbour screamed at my husband to stay out of our own driveway because i was "infected". My butcher (where i had shopped for 25 years) banned me from her store. Banks banned not only me, but my husband. I'm a Registered Nurse who lives in Canada but worked in Michigan. We were not allowed to visit our children and grandchildren. Our Prime Minister was horrendous during the pandemic.

I heard a pastor say “you haven’t read the Bible until you read yourself into every person in the Bible.” So true. We never see ourselves as the Roman’s, the Pharisees, the Phillistines etc. We love to pretend we are Joseph or the disciple whom Jesus loved or a man after God’s own heart. But more after than not we certainly aren’t.

Canadian here. Even as a child I understood very deeply that I was capable of evil and that those who do evil often feel justified. I thank God every day for that wisdom because it gave me the awareness to not become a monster (as of yet). Jordan Peterson is right, people here were giddy and spiralled quickly into the evil archetypes they read about in history books and with so little self awareness as to what they had become. I kept my integrity and refused to dehumanize others and that's one of the things I am most proud of. Praise God.

He so right. My neighbor threatened to call the police on me in the early days of the shutdowns because I was outside not wearing a mask…while she stood there in a mask, goggles and dish washing gloves.
