Video from Veritas with a binary title... of course will watch every last second. I love how every number system is "base 10" in it's own number system, as in literally base "one, zero". We only call them base 8 or base 16 using the concept of our regular base 10 in the first place!

as a graduated IT student I was wondering how you'd approach first introducing binary system. As I've done it myself to a few people and didn't succeed much. The columns of lights analogy is awesome. Very straightforward.

I never knew how to count in binary until I took discrete math. I learned about number systems and changing base before I learned binary. Needless to say, once you understand how bases work, understanding binary is an inherent part of that.
