As of Monday, federal public servants have to work in the office at least three days per week. That policy shift prompted the Public Service Alliance of Canada's chapter in the national capital region to call for members to minimize spending downtown. Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe tells Power & Politics that the city needs to ‘have more people downtown one way or another,’ and if public servants aren’t going to be in the office as often, the federal government needs to work with the city on a ‘solution for downtown Ottawa.’
