With two days to go until the autumn statement, the prime minister has given a huge hint of what to expect.

In a speech, Rishi Sunak said the time had come to "turn attention to cutting tax" after meeting his pledge to halve inflation.

The PM has been under pressure to reduce the tax burden - which is currently at a 70-year high ahead of the next election. But can tax cuts change the polls for the Conservatives?

Just what big business needs is a tax cut to increase profits isn’t it. BP, Shell, British Gas, internet providers and Supermarkets like Tescos have been struggling so much.
