Not sure why ama needs a sound test for bikes being raced in a closed course event. If the karens don't wana listen to them dont go pretty easy. Its not like your trail riding the sound isnt bothering anyone. Jus another rule for ama to money off of.

My guess is the exhaust tone is slightly quieter while in gear than in neutral 🤷🏻♂️.

They do these sound checks that way it protects the riders hearing inside the stadium as well it encourages the manufacturers to make quieter exhaust for the bikes. If they don’t pass the check the mechanics have to re adjust the exhaust till it passes or they can’t race (yes I looked this up on the internet and plz correct me if I made any errors)

Id buy a kickstart over a battery brand new when given the option. I raced 80ccs to 250fs, 1997 to 2004 in new england. I never had a 2 stroke issue thru all that time. Bought a husky 450 witj a button and now i worry about a fckin battry charge. It gets cold in Massachusetts, id rather no battery
