Love the full sound all the way up. It is amazing the difference in sound
when we play with relaxed chops. You have mentioned how your trumpet world
changed over night by trying something different as a kid. Same thing happened to me
at a much older age. I remember watching Maynard play an incredible double A
at a club in Milwaukee and just glance at his watch while doing so. I said to myself,
there is more to this than magic.I was already in trouble with my trumpet professors
for carving up my mouthpieces and messing around. You were always my favorite
lead player. your sound was always very liquid like Maynards.
