The reason why birds can’t feel spice is because they don’t have the receptor that capsaicin binds to. They’re the animal that’s meant to eat the plant as they can spread the seeds farther.

This is a biological adaptation that allows birds to eat and disperse the seeds of spicy plants without being deterred.
