Nebraskan native here, the reason why the mention cows and corn is because Nebraska is a massive agricultural state most notable for growing corn and raising cattle. You can’t go anywhere without seeing a cornfield, fun fact they raised cows right across from my HighSchool.
Also the city of Omaha is named after the Native American tribe Omaha.

The zoo is amazing. Has topped the world’s best zoos multiple times. It definitely is.

People are shocked when they learn that Omaha is one of the 50 largest cities in the nation. We actually have a larger population than Miami.

Nebraska is called the cornhusker state because they grow lots of corn. And it is in the Midwest and Omaha is a Native American name.

Yes, a Nebraska subscriber here. That zoo has the world's largest indoor desert, world's largest indoor rainforest, and world's largest indoor swamp

I once drove my grandmother to explore Nebraska for a vacation. I chose Nebraska because NOBODY ever goes there. We had a ball! We explored small towns, went to their bakeries, discovered the RUNZA, a Volga German meat pie popular everywhere in Nebraska, and talked to friendly small town Nebraskans. It was lovely. Lincoln, Nebraska, is a wonderful little city with beautiful gardens, and Hastings, Nebraska is a charming small college town. The Platte River, which crosses the state, is my favorite river in America because it is shallow and not so wide. It was easy to imagine the Indians living by the Platte River, riding in canoes and fishing there. I loved it.

Omaha here. The weather is among it's 'features'. We just got wrecked by a severe storm of 90mph(145kph) winds. Since we also have a lot of trees, nearly a quarter million people were without power, it took two days to restore power to most places, some people are still without power and its day 6 after the storm. The day after the storm it was 32C outside. August and September are likely to have lots of 37C days. In wintertime, if you factor in wind and all, a day or two of -34C is not unheard of.

2 Nebraska facts: The first Twister movie was based off "Night of the Twisters" when 7 tornados hit Grand Island in one night 1980. Koolaid was invented in Hastings.
Also the Lauritzen Botanical Gardens in Omaha are beautiful!

I am a Nebraska native from Scottsbluff, Nebraska which is 450 miles west of Omaha. The state is mostly populated with farmers and cattle ranchers. We love our state but it is not for everyone. Go Big Red!!

Native Nebraskan and current Omahan here! This video led me to your channel! Omaha has a crazy good food scene and some really cool places (though if you visit on Monday or Tuesday shops can be closed like Matt & Nat ran into). The Riverfront project they referenced has come along great and those parks are gorgeous now.

And if ever you’re in Omaha, I’d totally go to the zoo with a Portuguese guy!

"I don't know much about Nebraska...."
As do 90% of Americans.
I was stationed at Omaha for 4 years. If you have a family, it's great....is about the best opinion I can offer.

Hello from Omaha! Love your channel and had to do a double take when I saw your video was about Nebraska. It’s rare anyone talks about us, so this was really cool to see!

I'm from NE. When I lived in Pearland Tx in the early 80's, way before computers or cell phones, my TV broke. I call a local guy. He answers. I ask You fix tv's? He says Your from Nebraska aren't you? I was amazed? How could you possibly know that? He says, my daughter just married a guy from NE and you have an accent just like his! ROFLMAO? I have an accent? lol.

Hi, Omaha native. Lots of people think Omaha, Nebraska is a small 1-stoplight town, but it's actually a large metropolitan city with several Fortune-500 companies based here. Omaha and most of the northern Midwest (Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, the Dakotas, etc.) were originally Native American lands so the names given to regions and cities by the Native Americans remain, there are still reservations, sadly not as many as there used to be. And yes, it can get very hot in summer over 95˚F and very cold in winter -10˚F

Omaha is named for the Omaha native American tribe that lived in the area. Don't ask what happened to them, it is very sad. What is left of the Omaha tribe now lives on a reservation. I grew up in Omaha and am always surprised by people's interest in it.

I live in Omaha, Nebraska and grew up between here and Bellevue, Nebraska (Where Offutt Air Force Base is and where the President was flown to on 9/11 to shelter there (I was seven and remember that day)). My partner and I ate at the Inner Rail the other day. Henry Doorly Zoo I get a year-round pass to and it is truly amazing. They are constantly improving and expanding on all the exhibits. The zoo has the world’s largest indoor jungle and the world’s largest indoor desert.
