SV650X is a best fun bike for the money slap a good exhaust on it and boom and instant smile maker every time You crank that throttle!! Ps a little bellypan looks good as well to hide the oil filter and the headders! And if You are serious about thack just slap a GSXR 750 front end on it and rear shock and rear sets and you will have a perfect track bike. It won't be the quickest down the straight(put a bigger sprocket by 2 at the back and you gonna be much quicker out the corners) but in the twists you will get back on a lot on big cc bikes if you know what your doing! Plus it's a bike where you can pin the throttle on publick roads and you won't go to jail for it!! That is why Suzuki been making it for so long cause it is so fun and versatile!!

Judging by the looks alone and my vote goes to SV650.

I do not own a bike. I had a ride on a 2016 SV650 about a year ago along with 3 other bikes from honda and kawasaki. The SV650 is for sure the bike that i want feels amazing, and yes she does have some kick and pep from the engine. I opened it up on a straight through a few gears and didnt even realize i hit 90 mph in no time at all. A bike you can for sure get in trouble with, but it is very comfortable and forgiving. I love it

Good job. I really appreciate your doing a "straight" review, rather than some of the earlier short take, chopped, stand up comedy littered with memes narration videos you used to do. This has a more grown up feel. On substance, I think maybe the regular SV650 is more similar to the XSR700 than the SV650X, which quite a few add ons that bump the price and which the XSR doesn't have.

I agree about the headlight fairing, really completes the look on the SV

After riding and owning many different motorcycles... man the 650 V twin Suzuki made for the sv is the most incredible engine I have ever felt. It's just so grunty and ripe with character. Kicking myself for selling my '03 SV650 right now.

It is worth noting they improved the brakes on the 2019 SV650 models.

I love listening to both those bike just snarling and revving in the background.

I’m really liking the idea of getting an SV. I’ve been riding a VTX1800 for over 13 years and I’m tired of the cruiser life. Really looking to get onto something much smaller and nimble, especially for commuting.

Great vid, 3 months ago I had that same question xsr vs svx... And here I am loving every minute on my svx, for me was love at first sight.

Thanks guys. The standard SV is more like a Gixxer wannabe. I know that's harsh, but it's true. It is NOT a good platform for a track bike. (It's a good track DAY bike, but not a good TRACK bike.) Guys would swap the forks for gixxer forks because the stock ones would get squirmy under hard braking. As a street bike, the full fairings are slightly pretentious. With the X model, I think the SV has found itself. It's niche is "weekday street/weekend canyon carver". They also made the naked SFV650 Gladius with good build quality that FortNine reviewed (but I don't like the up-bars). I vote for the SV over the XSR. I don't like the extra 20 lbs but I do like the adjustable suspension and clip-ons for country roads, and the bike is probably narrower due to the V engine (more ground clearance). Note: the Gladius used 10-jet gixxer fuel injectors to fix the jerky acceleration. Someone with moderate mechanical skills could swap in some used gixxer injectors. Lastly, I think the XRS's tendency to lift the front end has nothing to do with the engine but is related to the (higher?) center of gravity and the (shorter?) wheel base.

Super happy you guys did this one, I've been looking at the cafe sv650x for a while now. You guys confirmed what I was hoping for out of the SV, hopefully they're selling well I'd like to pick one up in a year or so. ✌🏼😀🏍

I have the standard SV650 I bought as a commuter bike but after changing the rear tyre to a 180/55 it totally transformed the bike, now I find myself using the little SV almost as much for weekend fun as I do my Street Triple R.

Really love the look of the sv650! I’m sure spite would agree you guys should throw in a cruiser or two next time around (maybe like a scout bobber or one of the sportsters)

Had two xsr's, the first bike was a great bike, light, flickable, torquey. The second on I had after owning a cb650f seemed bitey with poorly set up suspension and didn't flick like I remembered and I'm not saying the cb650f was a good bike for me at all. Overall I should have chosen the sv that I test rode the same time as the second xsr, the sv is better value and so so much more forgiving, you rode it, it doesn't ride you kind of thing.
