Stat bonus: 10% chance to deflect incoming projectiles

Another fun fact, Anakin and grievous are never in the same room/location throughout the series. This is so the line "General Grievous, you're shorter than I expected" would make sense in episode 3

Phase 1 armor always holds up according to Rex. Pretty sure he combined the strongest elements of both phases in the final seasons, that’s why his helmet is unique with those marks on the bottom that clearly show it’s been welded

This isn’t the only time it happens in Star Wars. It also happens to Rex in Star Wars Rebels in the episode The Last Battle

I do think that he survived and that a lot of clones actually survived getting hit and get knocked out instead because getting hit by a blaster shot is like getting hit by a train but concentrated into a tiny area also later during the genosis arc we se a lot of injured clones on stretchers and in gunships we also know of a large number of medical stations that are constantly at capacity if all the clones just instantly died then we wouldn’t see so many wounded

Fun fact. The phase 1 armor is canonically stronger than phase 2. Phase 2 was made with comfort in mind, thusly it’s less protective.

This is why Captain Rex fused the 2 sets together. Taking the most protective parts of the Phase 1 and any part of the phase 2 that needed to remain comfortable.

Edit: man, y’all are really blowing up over this. Look y’all, it’s just Star Wars. No need to get so defensive over it. Chill, take a breath, and stop to think if the energy you’re going to put into this comment is worth it. Because I’ve already got like 40 of y’all telling me I’m wrong. And it truthfully doesn’t matter to me.

The battle of Geonosis was also probably the only time Ki Adi Mundi was likeable as despite being wounded he still marched with his clones through waves of Geonosians to the Rendezvous point.

I’m pretty sure this is just one B2 blast from its double arm blaster

I don't know what it is now. With Disney and legends and what not. But at one point it was explained that the armor worked like kevlar for blasters. It stopped the shot from being lethal. That's all. The trooper still takes a massive punch to the area, burns, etc. So while the armor saves the soldiers life. Very unlikely they will fight again soon.

But then again that may no longer be cannon.

Those guys are alive. The armor is meant to repel the energy from the blaster shot.

What actually happened:
“Oh shit I accidentally pressed render twice on this blaster effect, do you think they’ll notice”
“Nah man just say it was a ricochet”
“A 180 degree ricochet?”
“…yes?”

It also helps that the shot came in at an angle lot harder to punch through somthing when the angle is that steep. Makes the armor a lot thicker then when shooting level

The armor is actually designed to deflect blaster bolts. However, just like real world armor, it doesn’t protect everything and it can get worn out. Even irl, a lot more people died later of wounds or after repeated blows during the battle, rather than just being immediately dropped.

Think of it similar to a Napoleonic Cuirassier cuirass. They were designed to deflect and protect against musket shots at 50 yards. Sometimes it worked, but most times it did not.

So in the case of Republic Trooper armour I think the same. Range of a weapon help determine how and if the armour will succeed in protecting its wearer.

I don’t think this is a bouncing laser. I’m pretty sure it was just a B2’s double arm blaster, as there was a whole row of them as well

From what I remember reading a while ago, most standard armor sets actually protect users from getting shot (mostly). It just leaves you floored or out of breath. But depending on the actual blaster model and it's power, it can straight up just kill you

The way I understood it is the armor was designed to take the damage and disperse that energy across the armor itself instead of into the user but blasters pack so much heat that the armor can't disperse it enough and you end of passing out from the extreme heat and pain of being shot but most don't actually die.

Remember, most clones and storm troopers survive getting shot. They basically get K.O.

It could have gone through his heart but still redirected from the armor. For instance, if you shoot a real gun through the front window of a car, the bullet will either go up or down depending on which way it was shot from. That is something the animators could of had in mind. They were very big about detail.

My point though is that the blast didn’t redirect on the inside, it redirected from his armor but still went through him.

Is no one going to talk about how the imperialist republic used flamethrowers against the geonosians who were fighting for their freedom?
