Is that five feet on both sides of the wood rot, or 2.5 feet on each side?

How do you gain access to the crawl space to allow the steel beams in and wood? The access point is a small hole square shape in the corner of the living room hard to get in and out especially with equipment

How are you guys fastening the jacks into the earth/foundation? Are you just relying on the pressure between the jack and the I beam to hold them in place?
