How to Upload an Image or Video File on Discord

for me it just creates a file on the discord not the image like shown on video.

If i upload a pic, its a file and it doesnt show up immediately how do i fix?

It doesn't work as I don't see that in the + pop up window, mine says "Create Thread, Create Poll, Use Apps, Start Activity"
Discord needs to make an actual help file to get this to work.

It makes he file an attachment you have to download

Okay, I'm on mobile, and people are able to do something where before you click the video to play it, it will have one image that either could be a selected point in the video, or a completely different image that has nothing to do with the video, for example let's say there is an anime girl on it, and then you click it, it's a video that doesn't show the anime girl and it's a guy making fun of you for clicking it and being weird, those are funny but I don't know how to do that, it always no matter what I do, always has this one point in the video that it shows for the cover image, and I don't know how to change it, can you help me
