Three teenagers receive mysterious letters that transport them to another world. This world is known as, "Little Garden". Here, the inhabitants use their beyond human gifts to compete in games that range from simple tasks, to duels; sometimes even betting the very gifts that brought them there.

In the original story the rattenfänger led the children in the river like he did with the rats, drowning them, because the townspeople didnt pay him for his service.
Moral of the story, pay your Service people unless you want them to drown your children.

When a Anime is Narrated it actually sounds more interesting due to the story being understood better if it wasn't narrated it it would be a higher chance of you not watching it as you don't understand the story well

In one variation of the story Rattenfanger that I once read, the piper was in fact an enemy spy that caused the problem with the rats. He then went in pretending to be a savior to get rid of the rats when his true intention was to give the children something to eat that made them more susceptible to follow him and do as he says much like the rats. He then led the children out of the town at night to kill them in the river. In this way, the town would not be able to foster a new generation of able fighting people to stand against the army of the kingdom that hired the piper.

Since they'll never be a season 2 (it would have happened by now) let's just throw it out there. Izayoi is one of the strongest MC's of the isekai genre and anime in general. Sure, there are a few probably stronger, Rimuru, Yogiri but he's definitely towards the uper echelon of OP
