In short words A321 is pretty much longer version of A319 with longer range. AA will be using the A321 for NY - LAX routes while the A319 will be used as a replacement for the MD80's routes.

Finnaly AA decides to put the airbus to use  Dont get me wrong i love the boeing but i really like the FBW systems on the Airbuses

See more and more of these flying into Charlotte every day. I think that US Air is starting to re paint the a319s first.

So with the departure of the MD 80's it's looking like they are going all A-319 A-321 and 737-800. I can live with this

767's should be still around but they are going to retire the 757's. Its probalby one of the best fuselage engine combo american has but the RB211 is a legacy engine, it has seen its time, so is the fuselage. Dallas - Hong Kong will be the new 777-300ER.
Dallas - Shanghai will be older 777-200.
They are ordering more 777-300's along with A321 and A319.

Lots of hype and rightly so for the intro of a new type. Economy seating looks very tight and the way those seats recline has not been popular. Instead of reclining back you're seat is shifted or pivoted foreward creating simply an illusion of being able to 'stretch out'  Focusing a lot on those higher paying pax I see. hopefully that can carry AA. And I like Airbuses but the sky interiors on the next-gen 73's are better IMO
