Corvette C7.R vs C8.R Engine Sound

Listen to the different Corvette engine sounds of the outgoing C7.R and the new C8.R. First, Antonio Garcia does a qualifying lap in the #3 C7.R, then Tommy Milner does a pre-race demo lap in the new #4 C8.R. Both videos were recorded at the 2019 Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta using a Samsung Galaxy S7 with a Rode VideoMic Me.

I almost cried when that c7.r went by, and I knew I would never hear that sound again. It makes that c8.r sound like gas golf cart.

C8R sounds just like all the other flat plane crank V8 supercars, but not as good. The C7R sound is a thing of beauty.

Nothing can beat the deep guttural sound of the C7R. With the retirement of the C7R and the 911 RSR getting a refresh, IMSA events just aren't going to sound the same. Hopefully the Cadillac DPI will survive at least a few more years because it's the only naturally aspirated V8 left in the Weather Tech series.

That C8.R sounds EVIL like god dang, How can a V8 be this nasaly but have so much underlying bass is behond me, and the look of the car really matches up with the evolution it's undergone, with ford gone I'm a Vette Fan 2020

The C7 cross plane American muscle car sounds brutal in person. Its a shame its gone from international racing forever. The C8 sounds like a screaming Honda inline 4

I'm behind the evolution to mid-engine design, but I predict time will look favorably upon the C7.R/C7 Z06/C7 ZRI. The C7 supercharged streetcars caught the essence of the C7.R. I got the opportunity to see the car in action at Laguna Seca in its second to last factory team race. The sound is overwhelming ... Like, damn, my eardrums ... I need earplugs. Simply amazing and frightening at the same time. Like nothing else. The car will likely reappear with privateers, so I'm sure you'll get a chance again ...
